Marcelo was born in Sāo Paulo state - Brazil were he began experimenting with different forms of art, from creating unique necklaces and accessories with seeds from the Amazon to becoming a percussionist and performing with his band in different states. 

Upon starting college in Brazil, Marcelo definitely developed even more his "creative side" - and started designing and building some small sets for friends at the time.

After moving to Chicago, Marcelo discovered a new passion for design and antique restoration and in 2011, joined the Zhou B Gallery in Chicago, opening his workshop, M2M Creative Pieces. Marcelo researched and acquired unique and authentic 19th and 20th Century objects recovered from demolition, and restoring them to their best aesthetic and functional state, bringing back to life amazing and intriguing objects from the past and converting them into new art pieces.

In 2012, he found his true talent and professional calling, Marcelo started working for Crate and Barrel - Marketing Photo Studio. Since then, he has been able to explore his real potential as a Set Designer which resulted in stunning work and also in promotions and growth within the company. Marcelo has devoted his work to creating and building beautiful sets to the catalog and recently became a Senior Set Designer dedicating his work to the E-commerce team.
